Here is What You Should Know About Us!

We believe
that education, from First Grade through High School, can be done in a relaxed and uptone way and in our school this is how we go about it:



Our program was created after realizing the need for a change in the format of education, away from the traditional style into a New Era Education in which we implement boldly what was discovered to be correct methods for real education in any area of learning, including schooling of youth.

These methods have been available to anyone for use for years, however, it takes a brave and determined approach to actually break away completely from the traditional style of education, step out of the middle class treadmill, and do what is humanitarily needed.

There are few doing what we are doing as we own our own programs and maintain control of our own curriculum as a private academy.

Our program does not compromise with the factors necessary for a real education to occur in our students.

We have taken the time to remedy the logistical problems of facilitating these and a few other vital factors into our students daily enhancement time.

Amongst these factors include, a basic; our students willingness to participate in the program with an understanding of how it will help them. This is a vital point in real education and is checked and rechecked continually to insure our students are here on their own self-determinism.

Another major factor of real education is a supply of the real world in the program, which is designed to give our students the correct proportional balance of one hour of outdoor athletic extroversion to every one hour of indoor classroom academics. This balance is key in keeping our students attention on their academics and progressing well during that time,(rather than craving to be outside in the real world where they belong), This factor maintains for them a healthy spiritual attitude in life.

Also, in our school, the correct balance of outflow to inflow is maintained during classroom subjects. Since learning is in reality an outflow activity rather than inflow, we make sure that our kids are outflowing constantly. For example: If your kid is studying his Math on his computer by himself, he is continually inflowing. Our students are studying Math on a twinship basis, and are outflowing as well as inflowing and the correct balance of outflow/inflow is maintained – and that is how we teach the kids in our school.

Our Academic subjects are taught with a professional viewpoint for real life application. We make sure that our students understand 100% of the subjects they learn as anything less is not a professional standard. Their success in life depends on professionalism which is what awaits them upon graduation.

Our students are familiarized with knowledge for their inspection and this is different than the traditional "cramming of information into the mind" for testing and evaluation.

Our students are not subjected to false data and trivia as this tends to tie up their I.Q in altered importance and confusions which traps them spiritually in the messes.

We credit only real subjects that align with the real world and are taught with the future success of our students in mind.

We cannot condone a paper chase to academic accreditation aligned with a statistically proven failed educational system. This contemporary system, according to history, was implemented at the turn of the 19th century by psychologists and psychiatrists. (Ref. The Leipzig Connection)

We also believe that nine hours a day devoted to our students education is enough time to get a super product and thus homework is not only not needed, but it is "out tech" as it throws off the proper balance of indoor/outdoor extroversion and inflow of data.

Beyond that, after school our students need time to handle their personal affairs and hygiene and be with their families. We believe that the family is the basic building block of a kids life and being able to contribute to and be part of a strong family unit is the foundation to his happiness and future creative potential.

Education is not about cramming in knowledge but about our students' happiness, of which willingness and doingness are the keys to their ability to learn and understand.

After being in Astra Sailing I have found it easier to confront and handle the Physical Universe. MK

I like not having to be in the classroom all day like in my previous school. Astra gives a great balance of classroom academics and extroversion every day. AL

I never thought (at the age of 13)I could skipper a 27' racing boat in a Gulf of Mexico race with two other girls (13 and 10) as crew. We won the Good Sportsmanship Award for being the youngest crew to sail their own boat in the history of the race! JS

I didn't realize it could be fun to be part of a group. We are all one team, we do fun and exciting things together and we get along great! CS

I like being around true friends with high integrity in this school. We take all new kids into our group and treat them with respect and it's a win to see them become more competent. EK

I love arts and crafts, music and the ability to express my creativity at Astra and the combination of art and sailing is a national heritage in our country. TL

I learned how to do glass sculpturing and I have a new skill now that I can keep forever! AL

In this school handwriting is done professionally and not passed until it is done to a professional standard and I like the idea of being a professional at what I do. GC

We use our Math and Geometry right in the Industrial Arts program. We can design and build just about anything at Astra Academy. There's so much to do and have here in this school. JS

Our coach is a world champion and it is great being around someone who has earned that degree of respect in the competitive sport of sailing. My team mates are on the U.S. Sailing Team and are Olympic athletes and I have learned by being around renowned athletes the meaning of discipline and personal integrity and how to set an example of good sportsmanship, good manners and public relations while performing in public. BJ

It's great traveling across the country as part of a nationally ranking team seeing new places and meeting interesting people at the sailing regattas. I can't express enough appreciation to our captain for creating all of this for us. AT

I became the youngest windsurfer in the U.S. (at the age of 15) to win the U.S. National Title in Sport Fleet, one of the largest adult classes of windsurfing competition. SR

I have to control more things at Astra than my last school but I am willing to take on more challenges making me more responsible and I feel more respect for myself now. JS

I used to enjoy the playground in my other school but we play bigger games here and our playground is the world which gives me more space. GC

I got my post in Power and that was the greatest accomplishment in my life and I feel very good around my group as an upstat producer. GC

At Astra we have a safe environment to be in and we get Ethics protection when we are upstat which is usually all of the time. AL

I have realized that I always knew what I wanted to create in life but I had forgotten until I did the Vocational Research Project at Astra Academy. MK

I had a great win getting acknowledged for wanting to become an auditor. JS
